Thank you McGeough Family

Thank you so much to the McGeough family who has always been like our own.  Kris McGeough and his family are going to be PAYING FOR MOM'S ENTIRE AIRFARE TO KOREA!!!!

We would like to send our most profound thanks to the McGeoughs:  Jack and Darlene McGeough from Sylvan Lake, Terri and Wayde Cooper from Beaumont, Kris McGeough and Sylvain Giroux from Ottawa/Gatineau.

This is MONUMENTALLY amazing! We now feel like we can breathe easily, and devote all the energy we have spent worrying about these costs towards making sure Larry is completely focused on his training and ready to rock! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Wayde and Terri have a great Edmonton based business, Cooper's Recreational Powersports.  If you are ever in need of a quad, ski-doo, dirt bike, accessories, service or anything else to do with power sports,  please check them out at

Larry's Story

I thought I would do my best to tell Larry's story for anyone wanting to learn more, be inspired and to know where there support is going.  We are so very grateful for everyone who has made this journey possible.

A warm thank you to our Auntie Carmen and Uncle Darrell from Sieben Cement Contractors who are helping Larry get new clothes for his trip, which is a major self-esteem and confidence building thing!  They are also  helping with Larry and mom's other expenses!  WOW!!

Sieben Cement will be donating some "swag" for our online auction and maybe even some artwork created by my talented Auntie.  Not to mention my Auntie Carmen is going all the way to Korea to support Larry and my mom!

Your generosity is endless and deeply appreciated.  We are so lucky to have such a loving and caring family.  I see where Larry gets it from!

Make sure to call Sieben Cement Contractors for a quote for your next project!

Donations needed!!

We will be having an online auction in November to support Larry and our mom in their voyage to Korea in January for the Special Olympics World Winter Games.

If you can make a donation to our auction we would greatly appreciate it.  We are looking for:
  • Hand crafted items (knitting, quilting, jewelry, etc.)
  • Artwork
  • Company promotional gear
  • Gift certificates/products from your business
  • Services (photography, house cleaning, babysitting, aesthetics/hair, handyman, etc.)
  • Personal donated items (gift bags/baskets, libations, gifts, toys, etc.)

Please have items donated by November 4th so we can process them and set up the auction.  Email me to donate!  I am hoping to have it run the 2nd or 3rd week of November.  Perfect for Christmas shopping for a good cause!

Make sure to throw in a business card and use it as a chance to promote and network.  Your donations will make a huge difference and are greatly appreciated.

If you are unable to donate but want to lend support please post encouragements on Larry's Team Canada page http://teamcanada2013.ca/?athlete=larry-green

A HUGE thank you to Jim Hillman at Sundance Ski and Snowboard here in Edmonton for supporting my brother as he goes for his Special Olympic dream!! Here is a quote from my mom's post thanking him and his team for their generosity.

"I had a very emotional day of Thursday. Walked into Sundance Ski and Snowboard and Jim, the manager came down and started talking about Larry, when I looked around all the staff was there, on the stairs, peeking around corners, while Jim talked about Larry. Larry greeted all with a hand shake and said " I am going to work my hardest and may even come home with some medals." They cheered. At the cash register, his boots were discounted 100%!!!" -Terry Green

We are surrounded by angels who may not even know the impact they have on our lives. Not having to worry about the cost of this endeavour has made it possible to be there for Larry and take him even further towards achieving his dreams.

Make sure to get geared up just like our professional Special Olympic athlete at Sundance Ski and Snowboard! ROCK IT LIKE LARRY!!

We are so proud and grateful to have BTR Auto Repair & Tire supporting Larry as he follows his dreams!  They have generously supported Larry in buying new equipment so he is ready to rock the slopes in Korea.  They have always taken care of my family as well as they have our vehicles and we are so lucky to have such great friends and supporters.  Make sure to spread the word that BTR is not only a great garage, but also full of great and generous people.
