Rocked the hill

Larry rocked the Alberta Winter Games and we are so proud of how well he did moving up into the advanced category this time around.  He didn't earn any hardware but gained a lot of experience and skied better than ever.  Well done big guy!!

Go Cougars

Crystal made a sweet goal for the Edmonton Cougars for the Special Olympics Alberta Provincial Winter Games.  She and her team are playing an awesome game and we are so proud of her.

Also seeing the sportsmanship of the athletes is heart warming.  Team Calgary taking a minute to healp Team Edmonton with his helmet.  Class act.

Let the games begin

Larry is going for gold once again and following his dream to the alpine skiing podium in February in Grand Prairie. We will be going to cheer him on for the Special Olympic Alberta Winter Games. It will be a great weekend and hope as many people will come to join us, either in body or in spirit as possible. Please follow along though Larry's blog that I will update often.

These provincial games are the first step in the path that could lead to the Canadian games on the East coast of Canada next year and quite possibly Austria in 2017. Larry could not have made it to Korea without all of the love and support of so many amazing people so thank you in advance to everyone who was there for him and our family for the first adventure. Here we go again ... LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!

Provincial Qualifiers

Larry skied this Monday, with the luck-o-the-Irish giving him BIG GREEN LUCK!  A bunch of us came out to watch him, and the other local Special Olympics Ski Team members, tear up the slopes at Snow Valley.  They bells were ringing for everyone!

We are all ready excited to start the journey, hopefully, to gold again!  Next year Provincials are in Grande Prairie, the following year the Canada Games are in Newfoundland, and then World's in 2017 in Austria!  Let the games begin!!

The Gathering of the Clan

We had a wonderful time at the Campbell Family Reunion this year.  Here are a few pictures we had to share.  I'm so proud of Ailee doing her Irish jig with her dad.  See my other post for more about Larry too.

Larry speaks to his Campbell Clan

We were so lucky to be able to attend the 2013 Campbell Family Reunion in Regina.  A huge thank you to everyone that helped organise and make it such a good event.  Larry was honoured by the Clan with an amazing introduction,  "Scotland The Brave" blazing on the bagpipes as he entered and the chance to share his story with everyone.   He was as well sooken as ever and wore his medals with pride.   Funny enough he has a cousin who is even taller than he is!  Larry is just not used to that!  It was an amazing weekend and I cherished being abke to catch up with my family.  It made me so proud to be a Campbell.
