Larry in Beaumont
Larry came to talk to my school last week about setting goals and following your dreams. The kids made a giant card for him and he loved all the praise and well wishes. The Beaumont News even wrote an article about it.

GO TEAM CANADA
Cheer on Team Canada
I am so grateful for all of the support and encouragement for my brother Larry as he goes to Korea as part of Team Canada for the World Special Olympic Games. He loved the big card from my school and has a banner that a lot of people (some famous!) have all signed. He also has a lot of posts on his Team Canada website through Special Olympics.
Many of the other athletes are not as well publicized so I would like as many people as possible to sponsor an athlete Pick someone and send them a message to wish them well and cheer them on. Thank you so much for the support.
Click on a name and post a comment to cheer them on! Try and help out some of the athletes who need a few more messages.

Kids of the Year
Connor and Cayden Long are Sports Illustrated Kids of the Year and their story is amazing!!!

"Seven-year-old Cayden is unable to walk or talk on his own, but his nine-year-old brother Conner had an idea that would allow them to participate in sports together. A year and a half ago, they began competing in triathlons together. Conner swims while pulling Cayden in a raft, bikes with his little brother towed behind him in a trailer, and pushes that trailer when they run.
Over the past 18 months, the pair from White House, Tennessee, traveled up and down the East coast to compete in races. Seeing the brothers working together has inspired onlookers, while bringing Conner and Cayden closer than ever. Their amazing determination and spirit is why the Long brothers are the 2012 Sports Illustrated Kids SportsKids of the Year." http://www.sikids.com/skoty

Larry on CTV's Alberta Primetime
Larry was featured with two other Special Olympic coaches/volunteers on a segment on Alberta Primetime about Special Olympics and the upcoming games in Korea later this month. He did such a good job and looked so handsome and healthy! The producers in the control room would whoop and holler and cheer every time Larry said something awesome, which was often. One guy kept saying "I love this guy! Pure gold! YES!!!", Jennifer Martin was so welcoming and made Larry feel at ease and somehow they managed to get our Green giant in the same camera shot as her!!!
We had Rob Williams from CTV morning meet us there, sign his banner, and be my own personal behind-the-scenes escort. He was amazing and wants to have Larry on the morning show soon.
